ARGONAUTE

Seen last week in King George V Dock, Glasgow, is the French anchor handler ARGONAUTE, a standard Ulstein UT710 design ship. Built in 2003 as ISLAND PATRIOT, she was visiting the upper river to have equipment fitted to enable her to act as mothership for the NATO Submarine Rescue System, a project jointly funded by the UK, France and Norway.

Following the installation of this equipment, ARGONAUTE conducted a short set of dynamic positioning trials this afternoon off Cloch Point, as seen here. A fuller description of ARGONAUTE, owned by Bourbon Offshore, can be found in this PDF file.
