
A British-flagged ship! German owned, but registered in London, CITY OF OPORTO took the name when she commenced sailing on the MacAndrews service from Dublin, Liverpool, Greenock and Rotterdam to Lisbon and Leixoes. She runs opposite the colourful WERDER BREMEN so that a weekly service can be maintained. CITY OF OPORTO dates from 1998, when she was completed at the Sietas shipyard in Germany as ALK. In 2003, she became K-OCEAN, and the following year she took her present name. Capable of taking up to 700 TEU, she is 121.76 metres in length. Her gross tonnage is 6362 and her deadweight 7224 tonnes.
