Possibly one of the nicer looking cruise ships afloat these days, Peter Deihlmann's 22,496 gross ton DEUTSCHLAND paid a visit to Greenock today, and sailed at 1900 this evening. With an overall length of 175.5 metres, this ship has been to Greenock a few times over the past few years. Her construction was entrusted to four different shipyards, and the various modules were assembled at the Howaldwerke-Deutsche Werft shipyard at Kiel, in Germany. She was launched on 16 January 1998, and completed four months later. Catering mainly for German-speaking clients, DEUTSCHLAND is one of the world's most highly rated cruise ships. She can accommodate 513 passengers. For further details about the ship herself, see her owner's
website.
