Outbound from Glen Mallan this afternoon was FORT ROSALIE, no stranger to this part of the world. She was built as FORT GRANGE at the Scott Lithgow shipyard at Greenock in 1978, and had her name changed in May 2000 to avoid potential confusion with another Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship, FORT GEORGE. Her role is to provide Royal Navy vessels with dry stores while underway, including food and ammunition. The large flight deck aft is capable of operating helicopters to add to their versatility. For more information, see the Royal Navy
website.
