An early arrival today was this French submarine, CASABIANCA, a member of the 'Rubis Amethyste' class of nuclear attack submarines. Laid down in 1981, she was commissioned in May 1987. Her displacement is 2600 tons submerged. She is armed with Exocet missiles, which are launched from her four torpedo tubes, as well as more conventional 21" torpedoes.Tuesday, 11 September 2007
