HC IDA

Berthed just astern of AASHEIM was another small coaster, HC IDA. This part of the riverside berth at Shieldhall is occupied by scrap dealers, and HC IDA was loading scrap metal, for the Spanish steel smelters. Previously named OOSTERPOORT (under which name she visited the Clyde on numerous occasions), she adopted her current name when sold to MS "HC IDA" Schiffahrtsge at the very end of 2004. She is registered at St John's and flies the Antigua and Barbuda flag. 88.8 metres in length, and 2,545 gross tons, her deadweight is 3,785 tonnes. She was built by B.V. Scheepswerf Damen Bergum and like AASHEIM, also has an MaK main engine. She has three sister ships.
