NORDSTRAND

Lying at anchor this morning was the small coaster NORDSTRAND, built in 1991 in Holland and now owned by Faversham Ships Ltd. Flying the 'Red Duster', she is registered at Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, which was her last port before she arrived on the Clyde yesterday evening. This morning, the 1,970 gross ton coaster moved up the river, but sailed again at teatime tonight. She is of some 3,400 tonnes deadweight, and is 88.25 metres in length. A Caterpillar 3516 engine drives her single fixed-pitch screw through a reversing gearbox.
