USNS LARAMIE

As a support ship for the forthcoming Neptune Warrior exercise, the US Navy fleet tanker USNS LARAMIE was due to sail from Loch Striven this afternoon. The first view shows her alongside the NATO jetty with three tugs approaching to assist her departure.

This second view shows the Clyde pilot cutter MOUNT STUART having just brought LARAMIE a Clyde Pilot to help navigate her safely from the Clyde - a Naval Pilot from Faslane was also on board as the NATO jetty falls under their jurisdiction. Standing by is the tug SVITZER MALLAIG, and the local workboat FRAOCH waiting to let the tankers lines go.
