Taking a break from her summertime employment on the Ardrossan-Brodick service today was Caledonian MacBrayne's SATURN. She returned up-firth on Monday to operate special sailings between Wemyss Bay and Rothesay today. The occasion was
an outing for special needs children organised by the Variety Club (Scotland) and the Rothesay Rotary Club, and around 1500 children were taken to Rothesay aboard both the regular CalMac ferries - ARGYLE and BUTE - on the half-hour crossing to the island.

SATURN was suitably adorned for the occasion, as seen above as she passed Toward Point.
