Regular caller AMSTELDIJK arrived this morning, on her weekly Belfast-Greenock-Rotterdam service. This view shows in detail her rather unusual stern arrangement, including a ladder running down the transom from her main deck bulwark. Why it's there, I really don't know, although it may have something to do with making recovery of her free-fall lifeboat a little simpler. Note too, the open bridge wings like those found on some of the Sietas-built ships which have featured before on this site.Wednesday, 24 October 2007
