HMS BANGOR - M109

Another grey ship on a grey day. HMS BANGOR was noted this morning as she headed down the Firth from her base at Faslane. This 'Sandown' class minehunter looks a little bit the worse for wear, and in need of a lick of paint! BANGOR is one of the second batch of these ships, joining the Royal Navy when commissioned in 2000. During the Gulf War, BANGOR took part in Operation Telic, and steamed over 18,000 miles. More recently, she kept a watchful eye on the Russian destroyer SEVEROMORSK which was anchored off Ayr last month.
