Over the past summer, the preserved paddle steamer WAVERLEY has been celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of her entry into service in 1947 with the Craigendoran based fleet of the London and North Eastern Railway. Her inaugural sailing for her original owners was on 16 June 1947, when she sailed from Craigendoran to Lochgoilhead and Arrochar, a route which very much her own for many years. Following a special sailing to Loch Goil and Loch Long yesterday, WAVERLEY brought to a close the 2007 season with an excursion from Glasgow to Rothesay and Tighnabruaich. In the top view, she is seen leaving the Kyles of Bute pier this afternoon, marking the last call for the year in traditional style with three blasts on her steam whistle.

In the lower view, she is seen shortly after arrival back at Glasgow this evening, moored at her normal berth at the Glasgow Science Centre, facing down river ready for her sailings next year.
