Paying her first visit to Greenock today, the Liberian-registered container ship VEGA STOCKHOLM is running on the OOCL Southampton-Irish Sea Express service and arrived this morning from Belfast. Pictured as she passed Dunoon on her way to Rotterdam later today, VEGA STOCKHOLM is owned by Vega Reederei, a German company, and has a capacity for 698 TEU. She is 129.62 metres long, 8,306 tonnes deadweight, and was completed in December 2006 by Mawei Shipbuilding, one of China's oldest yards dating from 1866. One item of note about this ship - her IMO number is 9358539, whichever way round it's read!Friday, 7 March 2008
