The British Army has a small fleet of six ramped landing craft, all manned by 17 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps. They are capable of carrying up to 96 tonnes, and were built by James and Stone at Brightlingsea between 1984 and 1987. Any further positive identification of this little vessel, which headed into the Gareloch, would be welcomed!
