DARING, the lead ship of the new Type 45 destroyers under construction at BAE Systems' yards at Govan and Scotstoun, paid a visit to the Tail o' the Bank this afternoon, anchoring there while a sullage barge was brought alongside. DARING is seen here passing the Gantocks reef off Dunoon while steaming at around 20 knots. She has been conducting sea trials in the lower part of the Firth for the past two weeks.

Daring flying today past mile marker off Sannox and heading south past Holy Isle. NW/SE bound track has been been similar over the last few days. We spotted her today (Wed) from the top of Claughlands hill storming down the firth with a big rooster tail !!
