MARY M

One of Gareloch Support Services' workboats is currently working at Arrochar, at the north end of Loch Long, making test bores for a proposed new pontoon and mooring dolphins to be sited near to the remains of the former steamer pier. MARY M was built in 1999 for GSS and is 15.82 metres in length. Two GM diesels drive twin screws, and her hydraulic crane has a 30-tonne SWL. A similar pontoon is proposed for Lochgoilhead. It is hoped that once the structure at Arrochar is built, the paddle steamer WAVERLEY will be able to call there again.
