Another tug which arrived today was OSPREY FIGHTER, which flies the flag of St Vincent and the Grenadines. She was completed in China in August 2007 by the Jiangsu Wuxi Shipyard and has an overall length of 27.7 metres. Owned by a British company,
Osprey Shipping of Wallsend, she is of 318 gross tons. The barge she was towing is one of the Dutch
Stemat fleet, and will be used to deliver steel fabrications built at Renfrew, which are to be loaded aboard it on the River Cart. The river reopened to navigation last August, with the delivery of a first cargo of steel spools, destined for use in the oil industry, loaded onto a similar barge.
