The products tanker FALCON arrived this afternoon after having spent a few days lying at anchor at Brodick. She was completed in China in 2004, although she was launched by the Jiangyang Shipyard four years earlier. She originally flew the Cypriot flag, and was owned by Buttner and Gils, but since 2005 has been registered in Gibraltar, and is currently operated by
Teekay Chartering on behalf of Utsten K/S, a Norwegian company. She is 13,610 tonnes deadweight, and has an overall length of 145.30 metres. She was designed by
Vik-Sandvik, a Norwegian firm of ship design consultants, designers of many
tankers which have visited Rothesay Dock and Finnart.
