The two other ships in Ayr Harbour on Friday were both at the coal berth. RED DUCHESS, more often seen carrying cargoes of timber, was loading coal for Belfast, from which the other ship, IMI, had arrived earlier in the day. IMI is a Bahamas-registered coaster belonging to
Misje Bulk AS, a Norwegian company, and dates from 1993. She was built by Scheepswerf Bijlholt BV as MARJA, and was renamed in September 2006. She is 89.9 metres long, with a deadweight of 4,297 tonnes.
