Making her way past Hunter's Quay this morning, the preserved diesel puffer VITAL SPARK was returning from the
Holy Loch Marina to her other home at the
Inveraray Maritime Museum. The last commercially active puffer on the west coast, she was formerly named EILEAN EISDEAL until two years ago, when she was given a more appropriate name.
VITAL SPARK is to be used for some filming work at Inveraray on Monday 2 June. Hopefully it will not be too long before she is joined at Inveraray by another puffer,
AULD REEKIE (now renamed MAGGIE), which is also owned by puffer enthusiast Archie MacArthur.
