Bringing a part cargo of animal feed to Glasgow on Saturday morning was the bulk carrier CHUETSU MARU, a Panamanian-flagged ship of some 42,791 tonnes deadweight. Built in 1987 by the Imabari Shipbuilding Co in Japan, she is now managed by the Canadian office of Fairmont Shipping, a Hong Kong company. With an overall length of 199.97 metres, CHEUTSU MARU is the second high freeboard bulker, specifically designed for the carriage of wood chips, to have been on the Clyde this year; in February the Korean-flagged ship
BIG GRACE visited Shieldhall to discharge a similar cargo.
