RNLB FRASER FLYER

One of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's relief boats was noted today heading down firth. RNLB FRASER FLYER, which carries operational number 17-17, is a 'Severn' class 17.0 metre boat and has recently been given an overhaul at Rosneath. These boats have a range of 250 nautical miles at speeds of up to 25 knots. FRASER FLYER is named after her benefactor, the late Sir Angus Fraser (1928-2001), who had been Chairman of the Board of Customs and Excise.
