NENA M

The bulk carrier NENA M, which moved upriver on Saturday afternoon, is seen as she lies at Shieldhall discharging her cargo of animal feed. NENA M was built in Korea in 1995, by Hyundai heavy Industries at their Ulsan shipyard. When new she carried the name PACIFIC MAYOR, before being renamed in 2002. She is 185.06 metres long, and has a deadweight of 43,176 tonnes. During a voyage from San Lorenzo, Argentina to Saganoseki in Japan in August 2007, she went to the rescue of a catamaran that had been dismasted in the Indian Ocean, and picked up the crew of four from the stricken yacht. NENA M is operated by San Juan Navigation.
