Passing the Inverkip chimney for the final time, QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 was followed down the Clyde by BALMORAL and other smaller vessels, as she headed out to sea. On both sides of the Clyde, crowds of people turned out to witness the occasion, the likes of which will not happen again. Once QE2 completes this cruise at Southampton on Friday 10, she is due to make one more Transatlantic return sailing, followed by two cruises. Her final departure from the United Kingdom will be when she sails from Southampton on Tuesday 11 November, on her last voyage for Cunard, as she heads for Dubai, where she will be converted into a luxury hotel.

Top class pics !!
Wonderful photos and text to match.
Lovely photos! If you've any, please post them! It was perfect conditions for the evening sail - so clear and still. we could hear the ship's sounding horn as she went down the Clyde - even when finally out of sight - and we were pretty tearful...
The last of the truly GREAT Liners, the beauty of which will probably never be seen again.
I must comment favourably on the quality of the photographs and information posted on this site. I found it today and will certainly be back.
