Supporting the SNMG2 fleet is the 17,045 tonne tanker PATINO, built for the Spanish Ministry of Defence by Navantia's Ferrol shipyard and launched in 1994. She is 170 metres in length, and can carry up to 1,660 tonnes of aviation fuel and 6,820 tonnes of diesel oil, as well as 500 tonnes of dry stores and munitions. PATINO is based at cadiz, and carries a regular crew of 148.
