Seen off Strone Point at the mouth of Loch Long, the Dutch submarine WALRUS was having her towed array removed by the tug SD IMPETUS before she headed to Faslane. WALRUS, which was commissioned in 1992, is a fairly traditional diesel-electric attack submarine armed with four torpedo tubes. She was laid down in 1979 and launched in October 1985. During her fitting out, a serious fire occurred onboard, and this delayed her completion by around three years. Further details of her past can be read here. Also in this view is the new Defence Police launch JURA, the second vessel in a new class of which GIGHA was the prototype.
