HMS ST ALBANS - F83

Another Type 23 'Duke' class frigate arrived on Thursday afternoon. ST ALBANS, the last ship of the class, was built like most of her sisters at Scotstoun by BAE Systems, as the Yarrows shipyard had become by the time she was launched in May 2000. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy in June 2002, and has since seen service in te Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean, where she was involved in evacuating British citizens from Lebanon in July 2006.
