BOUNTY

Making a tour around European ports, the replica of HMS BOUNTY arrived at Greenock for a few days on Friday. She is seen here making her way upriver past Gourock, having spent the previous night at anchor in Kilchattan Bay. This replica, which was built in Nova Scotia in 196o, was purpose-built for MGM studios' film Mutiny on the Bounty with Marlon Brando. She is 180 feet in length, and has now been fully restored by the HMS Bounty Organisation. As she was built specifically for film work, with increased space between decks, she has since been hired for many other film and television roles.
