The former Royal Naval Auxiliary Service tender LOYAL WATCHER is seen here in Ayr Harbour. Built by Dunstons at Thorne in 1978, the 112 gross ton ship had been used as a fleet tender until paid off in the late 1990s, after which she started a new career as a dive exploration ship. Now operated by Inga Charters, LOYAL WATCHER was between expeditions, having been working off the Irish coast for a number of weeks, and was about to set off for the south coast.
