The latest workboat built for Gareloch Support Services arrived at Rhu Marina, the company's headquarters, today after a voyage from her builders in Holland that took her north along the English and Scottish coastlines, and through the Caledonian Canal. On board, as can be seen, was the skipper's car! AILEEN M was built by Neptune Shipyards at Aalst and is one of their Euro Carrier 2510 multi-role workboats. She is 25.1 metres in length and will be able to work up to 150 miles offshore. Twin Cummins engines will give her a speed of around 10 knots, and a bollard pull of 30 tonnes. Her 100 sq. metre deck can carry loads of up to 350 tonnes.
