Heading for Glasgow on a lovely sunny morning, the coaster FINGAL had just arrived on the Clyde from the Irish port of Youghal with a timber cargo. The Netherlands Antilles-flagged coaster of some 1,452 tonnes deadweight, is owned and managed by an Irish company. She later sailed for Campbeltown to load a cargo of round timber for shipment back to Youghal.
