TRIDENT HOPE

Registered in Panama, the 105,985 tonne deadweight Aframax tanker TRIDENT HOPE arrived on the Clyde from Sture in Norway with a cargo of North Sea crude, destined for Finnart. She was built by Namura Shipbuilding in Japan and completed in February 2003. At 232 metres overall length, she is now owned by a Liberian firm and managed from Hong Kong, having been sold by her original Japanese owners last year, reportedly for around $42.5 million. The tug ANGLEGARTH was about to make fast to the tanker's aft end for the transit up Loch Long to the berth at Finnart.
