Bockstiegel ships are regular callers to both Ayr and to Glasgow, and indeed it was from the former that AB DUBLIN had sailed upfirth to anchor while she awaited the flood tide before heading upriver to Glasgow to load scrap metal, a cargo that she would be taking to Liverpool. Her sister, AB LIVERPOOL, was already loading a similar cargo at Shieldhall, across the river from Diesel Wharf, where AB DUBLIN would be loading.
