Now working on charter to MacAndrew, the Maltese-flagged container ship ÖLAND paid her first visit to Greenock on Thursday 3, and she is seen heading back down the Firth on her way to Rotterdam. Sailing in tandem with HELGALAND, ÖLAND has recently been working on other routes but is now employed on the service from the UK to Portugal. She was built by Sietas in Germany in 2003 and is one of the 'Type 172' ships, with a capacity of 864 20ft boxes.
