FENCER on Loch Lomond

Pictured at the pontoon at the Duncan Mills Slip at Balloch, Clyde Marine's FENCER is now being used on a new service between Balloch and Balmaha, linking there with another new service that runs to Luss. The new services are designed to attract people to explore the loch and will, hopefully, reduce road congestion and associated environmental impact in the area. FENCER is due to remain on Loch Lomond until 5 September. She was transported to Balloch from the Clyde by road. Behind her, lying at Balloch Pier, MAID OF THE LOCH continues her renovation which may, subject to adequate funding being sourced, see her return to steam at some stage in the future. She was the last large paddle steamer to have been built in the UK, and was launched into the loch in 1953.
