The National Environmental Research Council's research ship JAMES COOK was seen making her way upriver to Glasgow, where she would load stores before setting off on a deployment to the Darwin Mounds, a massive field of underwater sand mounds approximately one hundred miles north west of Cape Wrath. JAMES COOK replaced an older ship in the NERC fleet in 2006 and was built in Norway.
