ATALANTA

After discharging a cargo of animal feed at Shieldhall, the Greek-flagged bulk carrier ATALANTA is seen heading out to sea on passage to Baltimore. She was built in 2010 by Tsuneishi Group in Japan to their 'Kansarmax' design, and is 229 metres overall with a deadweight of 82,094 tonnes. As is usual with these large ships, before coming to the Clyde she had already discharged part of her cargo, in this case at Immingham and Southampton.
